Orchard work parties

Our work parties are fun, social and productive – come and join us! Details of upcoming work parties are listed here, with general info about work parties below.

Sunday 3rd March, 11am – 1pm

We’ll continue the great start we made last week, working our way along the tree rows, pruning and weeding each tree, and putting in rebar posts for a semi permanent electric fence around each tree row. Expect measuring, hammering, carrying, weeding, chatting and flapjack eating!

Sunday 24th March, 11am – 1pm

We will be pruning and weeding the trees, continuing to work our way along the rows and giving them a bit of tlc before they burst in to leaf and start a new growing season.

General info for work parties

Everyone is welcome – no experience necessary. Please come and join for as long or as little as you like, and take it at any pace that works for you. Kids are welcome, but you must take full responsibility for any children you bring with you.

Do wrap up warm, bring snacks and drinks if you think you’ll need them, and bear in mind that the orchard site is pretty exposed. I’ll do my best to provide some flapjacks to keep us fuelled up.

We generally have all the tools we need on site, but if you would like to work with your favourite spade or secateurs, please bring them along.

It’s helpful if you can text or email to let me know you’re coming so I have a rough idea of numbers. If you need directions, have any questions, or want to check we’re there on the day if the weather is dodgy, please do get in touch.
