Sunday 8th March, 10:30am – 1pm
This will be the last of our winter pruning work parties – come and help us get through the winter work before it’s too late! We will be adjusting guards, weeding around the base of the trees, and pruning.
Sunday 12 April, 10:30am – 1pm
We may still be adjusting guards and weeding, plus our onsite tree nursery could do with a bit of spring time attention before the weeds get out of hand.
Sunday 10th May, 10:30 – 1pm
This will probably be the first of our summer scything sessions. Come and practice your skills, give it a try for the first time, or enjoy some raking, mulching and weeding if that’s more your thing.
General info for work parties
Everyone is welcome – no experience necessary. Please come and join for as long or as little as you like, and take it at any pace that works for you. Kids are welcome, but you must take full responsibility for any children you bring with you.
Do wrap up warm (or bring sun cream and a hat), bring snacks and drinks if you think you’ll need them, and bear in mind that the orchard site is pretty exposed. I’ll do my best to provide some flapjacks to keep us fuelled up.
We generally have all the tools we need on site, but if you would like to work with your favourite spade or secateurs, please bring them along.
It’s helpful if you can text or email to let me know you’re coming so I have a rough idea of numbers. If you need directions, have any questions, or want to check we’re there on the day if the weather is dodgy, please do get in touch.
